How do I find where photography seminars in my area are held?

  1. I would recommend contacting your local camera club or Professional Photographers Association. You can also Google photo seminars and check with you local college photography department. Once you get onto a mailing list, you’ll start getting notice of upcoming events. Additionally, you can check the websites of the sponsors of the seminar tours and find out where they are going to be, for example, American Photographic Resources Inc is a sponsor and by being on their e-mail list, I get notification of local seminars. These ideas should get you started. Good luck and enjoy.

  2. Pick up a copy of the 2008 Photographer’s Market. It’s $27 in Barnes & Nobel. There’s a whole chapter in the back on Workshops & Photo Tours. It’s also full of all kinds of resources on how to sell your photos, photography organizations, etc. I just got it today. It was definitely worth the money.

  6. SMART boards are amazing! I've used in one teaching venue in my life and that was back in the late 90s (!) at a private day school in the Milwaukee area. Rumor has it we may have those in our classrooms when we return in the fall. Honestly, though, I think I'd rather have more tech in the hands of the students. However, I will gladly accept what I can get! ;)
